A wonderful tool: CorpusMate

 Hello my languagetors!👀

After a long time, I came to you with a great suggestion. CorpusMate! is a great tool that provides students with authentic material as well as seeing different examples and revising them with sentences. My friends Rabia Çimen, Emircan Arslan and Ahmet Alper Aydoğdu and I prepared a very useful material using CorpusMate. In our material, students will first be able to distinguish between "was" and "were" using the CorpusMate tool. Students will be able to see both authentic sentences and see the distinction of was and were. We had a lot of fun with our friends while preparing the material. The design process was quite enjoyable.

When we present this material to students, students may first stick to the sentence structures they took as examples from CorpusMate. This may limit their creativity a little. We can avoid this by presenting students with as many different sentences as possible. Another problem we may encounter in the classroom is access to technology. Students should have equal access to the internet, so it may be difficult to establish this balance in a classroom with a low socio-economic status. I think our material is very useful when these difficulties are overcome.

By using this material, students will not only use various sentence structures related to the relevant topic, but will also reinforce them with practice. I definitely think CorpusMate is a unique solution source for similar topics that students get confused about. You can also benefit from this tool both while learning English and teaching it to your students.

I am also adding the material we have designed below so that you can use it as you wish.

See you my languagetors👀
