My Journey with the Current Issues Course: From Challenges to Mastery!

HELLO MY LANGUAGETORS!!👀👀

Today I would like to tell you about the Current Issues course I took throughout the semester. First of all, since the course was technology-oriented, my interest in the course increased day by day. Compared to the materials I prepared at the beginning of the semester, I feel that I have now prepared excellent, almost perfect materials. I think this was the best aspect of the course that it gave me, but I can say that the only problem with our course is that we cannot teach our lessons in the lecture hall and the classroom is very hot. Apart from that, I enjoyed the lessons and assignments very much. When I reviewed the syllabus at the beginning of the semester, the lessons and assignments scared me a lot and I thought I would have a hard time. Yes, I had a hard time, but then I got to a better level by doing homework and I did not have a hard time.

My favorite task was definitely the AI in Elt assignment because we now use artificial intelligence in every field, so I want our students to benefit from this blessing. The course proceeded in a very professional manner, was instructive and enjoyable.

I would say to the students who will take this course next year, "Don't be afraid of assignments, because they are the ones that will improve you the most." This course definitely reminded me of the importance of technology and taught me how to apply it effectively.

See you my languagetors!!!👀👀👀

Instant Feedback with AI: Revolutionizing Homework Assignments!

Hello my languagetors!👀

Today I come to you again with a great idea. Would you be surprised if I told you that students can be given homework and receive instant feedback with artificial intelligence? I think you won't be surprised, because now technology has developed a lot and the next generation is opening their eyes to a world full of artificial intelligence, I think we should integrate artificial intelligence into our lessons as much as possible.

We prepared a great material together with my friends Rabia Çimen, Ahmet Alper Aydoğdu and Emircan Arslan. During the process of doing this assignment, the material design parts were very enjoyable, and it was also very enjoyable to exchange ideas with my group friends about the topics and chat about our field. This assignment reminded me again that artificial intelligence should be in our classrooms.

It is now possible to teleport from the classroom to the other side of the world! AR!

Hello my LANGUAGETORS!!👀,

Today I came to you with a new idea!. As you know, technology is developing so much that it is very difficult to keep up. As language teachers, we know very well that we should always offer our students a class integrated with technology (of course, if the conditions allow it). My idea today is definitely to bring AR videos to our classes!

Technology takes us from where we are to another place. As language teachers, we can make our classes more interesting and fun by using this useful tool! When our teacher gave us this assignment, we immediately distributed the tasks with my group friends. By the way, I would like to thank my group friends Rabia Çimen, Emircan Arslan and Ahmet Alper AydoÄŸdu for accompanying me while doing this challenging and enjoyable assignment. In the assignment assignment, we immediately chose the video selection part with Rabia. Because we both love watching 360 videos. We got to work right away and looked at all the 360 videos on the internet. We had a little difficulty in this process because it had to be both at A2 level and it had to be the type of video we wanted. After long hours, we chose very nice videos and prepared our paper with my other group friends.

We found our videos thanks to Youtube and designed our paper thanks to Canva. Although the homework process was challenging, surfing the internet to find 360 videos was very enjoyable because we came across very interesting and beautiful videos. By using this technology, we can create more authentic and real-life context-oriented materials for our students and these materials will definitely be loved by our students.

A GROUNDBREAKING INNOVATION IN EDUCATION: FLIPPED CLASSROOMS!!!

Hello my languagetors👀.

Today, I would like to share with you what I experienced in the process of creating a video for a flipped classroom, which was very enjoyable for me. So "What is a flipped classroom?". The flipped classroom is a teaching method where students study at home using videos or reading materials and practice what they learned in the classroom. For language classes, this means students can learn grammar or vocabulary at home and use classroom time for speaking and group activities. This method helps students become active learners, but it can be hard for those who don’t have internet or good study habits.

Let me tell you the process. Our instructor gave us 2 options for our assignment, either we were going to prepare a grammar teaching video or a vocabulary teaching video, of course these videos would be for flipped classrooms. my dear friend Rabia Çimen and I chose vocabulary teaching and we got to work. It was a fun experience, but we also had some problems. Since we stay in a dormitory, recording audio was very hard because there was a lot of noise. We had to wait for quiet times to record. Another problem was the video-making website—it worked very slowly, which made the process longer. We solved these problems by dividing our tasks. I wrote the script, and my partner did the video editing.

We used Animaker to create our video. It’s an easy tool with many options for making animations and videos. However, it can be slow if the internet connection is not strong, which caused some delays. You can explore Animaker at www.animaker.com.

Even though we had challenges, we learned how to work as a team and solve problems together!!!💪

My dear languagetos👀, I am adding the link of our video below for you. Don't forget to watch it and write your valuable opinions below. .

A wonderful tool: CorpusMate

 Hello my languagetors!👀

After a long time, I came to you with a great suggestion. CorpusMate! is a great tool that provides students with authentic material as well as seeing different examples and revising them with sentences. My friends Rabia Çimen, Emircan Arslan and Ahmet Alper AydoÄŸdu and I prepared a very useful material using CorpusMate. In our material, students will first be able to distinguish between "was" and "were" using the CorpusMate tool. Students will be able to see both authentic sentences and see the distinction of was and were. We had a lot of fun with our friends while preparing the material. The design process was quite enjoyable.

When we present this material to students, students may first stick to the sentence structures they took as examples from CorpusMate. This may limit their creativity a little. We can avoid this by presenting students with as many different sentences as possible. Another problem we may encounter in the classroom is access to technology. Students should have equal access to the internet, so it may be difficult to establish this balance in a classroom with a low socio-economic status. I think our material is very useful when these difficulties are overcome.

By using this material, students will not only use various sentence structures related to the relevant topic, but will also reinforce them with practice. I definitely think CorpusMate is a unique solution source for similar topics that students get confused about. You can also benefit from this tool both while learning English and teaching it to your students.

I am also adding the material we have designed below so that you can use it as you wish.

AFTER A SHORT TIME, I'M BACK!

Hello my LANGUAGETORS👀💪! Your English prospective teacher is back! it's been a long time and I'm back! How to teach English using technology? I will continue my shares about it. This year, we will work on teaching English to our students more effectively using technology in our course. We will prepare various technology-focused materials and present them to our friends and instructor throughout the semester to get feedback.

I will introduce you to the technology-focused materials we have prepared throughout the semester here and share them with you for you to benefit from. As a prospective English teacher, I will share my experiences in the course with you throughout the semester. This adventure is really exciting. Sharing my blogs with you and helping you is a great pleasure for me because we, as prospective English teachers, should support each other in our teaching processes.

My current blogs will be about how we can integrate the incredible dimension that technology has reached in English teaching into our lessons, as it was in the past. In this context, my posts will be about the role of technology in foreign language teaching and the sharing of technology-focused materials.

I have missed you so much, my languagetors👀💪!

My comments about the course

HELLO MY LANGUAGETORS!!👀👀

I hope you are fine guys! Today I want to talk about my instructional course. First of all,I had a very enjoyable time in this course we took this semester. I enjoyed doing the homework very much because of my interest and love for technology. Before taking this course, I knew that technology had a positive impact on language classes, but I never expected it to be so useful. Technology is advancing very fast and the new generation has grown up with technology. For this reason, we now have to integrate technology into our classrooms. This course taught me a lot. For example, what artificial intelligence can do, the ease of preparing podcasts, and easily reaching the masses with blog preparation homework. I would like to thank Rabia Çim, with whom we did the homework in this course. While preparing the assignments with Rabia, we both had fun and enjoyed it, and sometimes it was difficult, but we succeeded. Among the assignments I did in this course, the one I enjoyed most was definitely the AI task. It was really fun to go back in time and talk to a person who lived in the past. I didn't know that artificial intelligence was quite good at this. I definitely think that this course is very useful and I think that it has no shortcomings and that it is a course that every prospective English teacher should take.

See you my languagetors!!!👀👀👀
